Two Houthi drones shot down in Yemeni central province‏‏

Yemeni government forces shot down two Houthi drones in the central province of Marib on Saturday، according to Yemen TV.

The drones were intercepted and shot down while flying towards army positions in the western part of the province، the national public television said، citing a statement from the army.

The Houthi group has yet to comment on the incident.

The Yemeni government has repeatedly accused the Houthi rebels of carrying out drone attacks in the oil-rich province، which has served as a significant battleground between the warring factions.

However، tensions between the conflicting parties have eased in recent months، with both sides adhering to a tacit truce. Consequently، drone attacks have become less frequent.

Efforts by the United Nations to mediate a lasting cease-fire and secure a peace agreement between the warring factions are ongoing.

Yemen has been locked in a military conflict since the Houthi militia took control of several northern cities and ousted the Yemeni government from the capital Sanaa in 2014.

The ongoing conflict has resulted in a staggering number of casualties and plunged the Arab world's poorest country into humanitarian crises، including widespread famine.
