Saudi Arabia hails joint statement with UAE on Yemen‏

The Saudi cabinet hailed on Tuesday the joint statement issued between the Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates on Yemen.

The meeting was chaired by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz. It was held at the al-Salam Palace in Jeddah. 

The ministers underscored the statement that welcomed the compliance of the legitimate government of Yemen and Southern Transitional Council with Saudi Arabia’s call for dialogue.

It stressed the need to preserve unity and shun sedition. Riyadh and Abu Dhabi also underlined their continued support for the legitimate government and its efforts to safeguard Yemen and defeat the Iran-backed Houthis and terrorist groups.

They hailed the 55th Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority annual report that highlighted the economic and financial developments witnessed in the Kingdom in 2018. The ministers said the progress is in line with Saudi Arabia’s balanced economic policies.

They also welcomed the 2019 Article IV Consultation report by the International Monetary Fund that hailed the progress the Kingdom is achieving in diversifying its economy, creating new job opportunities and implementing reform in line with its Vision 2030
