Prince Khalid, Pompeo: Dialogue is the only way to achieve a prosperous Yemen‏

Saudi Arabia's Deputy Defense Minister Prince Khalid met  US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo on Wednesday in Washington, where US Secretary of State thanked the minister for Saudi Arabia's efforts to mediate the dispute in Yemen.

Prince Khalid Bin Salman agreed with Pompeo that dialogue represents the only way to achieve a stable, unified, and prosperous Yemen.

According to Morgan Ortagus, spokesperson of the US State Deportment, Pompeo reiterated US support for a negotiated resolution between the Yemeni government and the Southern Transitional Council.

Prince Khalid and Pompeo discussed a broad range of bilateral and regional issues, including the need for stronger maritime security in order to promote freedom of navigation, the Iranian regime's destabilizing activities in the region.
